Book Releases and Reviews August 2, 2022

We’re starting August off right, with two fantastic August 2 book releases.

The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean

5/5

An incredible supernatural fantasy novel about vampire-like creatures who, instead of subsisting on blood, subsist on books. Devon is a Book Eater trying to keep her young son alive even as they run from their past. But Devon has more up her sleeve than it first appears and as she’s drawn deeper into a web of lies and family politics, she proves to be a more dangerous element than any of the men in her life could’ve expected. Absolutely unputdownable.

Husband Material by Alexis Hall

4/5

This was every bit as fun to read as Boyfriend Material. Luc and Oliver are two years into the relationship and surrounded by friends and exes getting married. I enjoyed seeing the growth of both characters.

At first I wished there had been an epilogue or the book had been longer, but now that I’ve learned that Alexis Hall plans for London Calling to be a five book series, I’m more excited to get three more novels worth of these characters.

We’re also excited for these August 2 book releases: Bad at Love by Gabriela Martins, The Sleepless by Victor Manibo, and Mademoiselle Revolution by Zoe Sivak.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers of these ARCs for the books for review.
