Book Releases and Reviews April 5, 2022

For April 5 book releases, we’ve reviewed two great romances and book all about parenting.

The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa

4/5

I love a good fake dating novel! When a woman Dean’s never met derails his wedding, he’s not devastated, but what will be devastating is if his lack of significant other affects his ability to make partner at his law firm. Solange knows she did the right thing stopping Dean’s wedding when she realized he fiancĂ© was in love with another man, but she knows she owes Dean, so when he needs to convince his law firm that he’s in a serious relationship, she’s willing to be his fake girlfriend. I loved all the characters and the way feelings developed between Dean and Solange as they got closer and closer.

The Date From Hell by Gwenda Bond

3/5

Callie and Luke are back and trying to navigate their relationship in the space between the forces of good and evil. It took a bit longer for the action to really get going in this sequel, but once it did, I loved it. We got more of Callie sticking up to the devil, and more about the guardians as a whole, including Saraya the Rude. It was another fun read.

Imperfect Parenting by Dona Matthews

5/5

I found this to be both a very information and practical book about authoritative parenting. I particularly liked that each chapter breaks down how to apply the content to children in four age ranges: 0 – 5, 6 – 10, 11 – 18, and 19 – 25. It feels like an important reference book that I will return to.

Other April 5 book releases we can’t wait to read are Dreams Bigger Than Heartbreak by Charlie Jane Anders, Queen’s Hope by E.K. Johnson, and Four Treasures of the Sky by Jenny Tinghui Zhang
