Book Releases and Reviews June 7, 2022

For our reviews this week, we’ve got three great romances to check out. Check out these great June 7 book releases.

Wicked Beauty by Katee Robert

5/5

Another wonderful Dark Olympus novel. Helen is not a prize to be won, and she’ll do what it takes to have her own power in the city, even competing to win the title of Ares against warriors like Achilles and Patroclus. Achilles is also hungry for the power that comes from being one of Olympus’s elite, and with the help of his partner Patroclus, he is certain he will be the next Ares.

I loved both the competition and the chemistry between the characters as they had to navigate their desire for both power and one another.

Home Field Advantage by Dahlia Adler

4/5

I loved this queer YA romance about an aspiring cheer captain and the new quarterback who turns the school upside down when she turns out to be a girl. Some of the drama between Jack and Amber felt a bit forced, but I couldn’t put it down and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Attraction Distraction by Jenn McKinlay

3/5

Sarah has the opportunity of a lifetime when her boss at the Museum of Literature sends her on a quest to find definitive proof that the Trojan war really happened, but one of the others looking for this evidence is her ex Liam. When others on the search begin getting injured, Liam and Sarah are forced to work together to stay safe.

This was a quick, fun read. I wished that parts of the book had been more surprising, like who was injuring the others, but I still enjoyed this novella.

Little Bird by Tiffany Meuret , As Seen on TV by Meredith Schorr, The Facemaker by Lindsey Fitzharris, and For the Throne by Hannah Whitten are some other June 7 book releases we’re looking forward to checking out.

Thanks to netgalley and the publishers to ARCs of the books for review.
