Book Releases and Reviews: January 4 and 11, 2022

It’s a new year, and this January 4 we’ve got new book releases to look forward to checking out. We’re starting the year off on January 4th with a history of women’s exercise and fitness. Then for January 11, we’ve got a super short, super emotional romance.

Let’s Get Physical by Danielle Friedman

4/5

This book was fascinating. It chronicles the journey from the time when women were warned not exercise at all lest their uterus fall out to the boutique fitness classes of today. The book primarily focuses on American women. It was very interesting to see how the culture of a specific tied in with exercise culture.

The Wedding Setup by Sonali Dev

5/5

Sometimes romance short stories feel rushed to me, but The Wedding Setup was perfect. Ayesha’s grief and her relationships with Emmett, Bela, and her mother were all so well done is so few pages. It was a quick, emotional read, and I loved it.

Some other January 4 book releases we’re looking forward two are All of You Every Single One by Beatrice Hitchman and The School for Good Mothers by Jessamine Chan. And on January 11, we’re looking forward to reading Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan, The Bone Spindle by Leslie Vedder, Yonder by Jabari Asim, and If I Were a Weapon by Skye Kilaen.

What new releases are you most looking forward to in 2022?
